Configuration of SwyxIt! TAPI service provider for DATEV applications (kb3363)

This article describes how to configure the SwyxIt! TAPI Service Provider for DATEV applications.
During the installation of SwyxIt! it is possible to add the SwyxIt! TAPI Service Provider as an option. This will enable each application which is TAPI compatibel, the make use of the SwyxIt! telephony functionality.
In order to make sure that DATEV applications will make use of all these functions the SwyxIt! TSP must be configured correctly:
Open the Control Panel and and select Telephony and Modem Settings.
Choose Advanced, select SwyxIt! TAPI service provider and do the following settings:
Caller ID-Type: complete
Signaling of outbound calls: yes
To enable the DATEV specific function "Anrufdatenweitergabe", it is necessary, to change the default name of the TAPI-Line of the SwyxIt! TSP. This can be done by adding a RegistryKey on the client PC's or the terminalserver. To be able to use this function you need a SwyxIt! v6.02 MP2 or newer.
Please follow this steps:
Start the registry editor "regedit" and navigate to
- Create a DWORD key BuildLineNameFromMachineName with value 1. The PC Name will be added to the TAPI line name so you get e.g. "SwyxLine@hal.swyx.net" or SwyxLine@hal. Add String value LineName with content e.g. "My Long Line". This replaces the default "Swyx Line" with e.g. "My Long Line" Both keys can be combined. After this you should restart SwyxIt!
With these settings it should be possible for DATEV applications to interact with SwyxIt! TSP without any restrictions.
