Licenseproblem after update from v5.00 to v5.01 during evaluation period (kb3084)

Question

After an update from SwyxWare v5.00 to v5.01 during the usage of evaluation licenses no or only one user can login and/or the gateway service is not starting. What is the reason and how can it be fixed?


Answer

Due to this update a part of the evaluation licenses are lost and there is only one or none userlicense and/or speechchannel available.

This is the reason why the login of further users does not work or the gateway service does not start.

You can repair the problem with this steps:

  • delete the file license.dat in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Swyx\
  • start and run through the ConfigWizard (C:\Program Files\SwyxWare\ConfigWiz.exe) again and at the end choose evaluation licenses again.

There should be 5 user and 4 speechchannel licenses again now.

 


Further Informationen

You can repair a damaged evalatuion license with this procedure, but you can not extend the evaluation period.
