The information in this article applies to:

  • SwyxWare v6.02
  • SwyxWare v6.01
  • SwyxWare v6.00
  • SwyxWare v5.01

[ Summary | Information ]

The Swyxware database can easily backed up and restored with two VB-Scripts Backup.wsf and Restore.wsf. Both scripts can be found in the SwyxWare program files folder.

SwyxWare's database is stored in two files on the server's harddisk: The database file ippbx.mdf and the transaction log ippbx_log.mdf. Both files are located within the SQLServer data folder. For a standard installation from SwyxWare-CD this folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\Data\MSSQL\Data Microsoft SQLServer saves the data folder path within the backup and uses it during restore. To restore the SwyxWare database to a different folder use Restore.wsf and specify this additional commandline option: /m:<path to mdf-file> /l:<path to ldf-file> Example:

cscript Restore.wsf /f:"ippbx.bak" /m:"c:\MYmsde\data" /l:"c:\MYmsde\data"

All other command line Options can be displayed by executing

cscript Restore.wsf
