1. New SwyxIt! Feature: SwyxIt! Messenger

SwyxIt! Messenger is a new application that can be started immediately from the context menu of a name key/speed dial or from different lists (directory, call list, re-dialling list and list of the call recordings). If a SwyxIt! user receives an Instant Message from another user, SwyxIt! starts automatically.

Note: Instant messages can only be sent between internal participants.

New SwyxIt! Feature: SwyxIt! Web Extension

SwyxIt! skins containing your choice of Web content can be provided through the SwyxIt! Web Extension feature.  The SwyxIt! Web Extension is a new element of the SwyxIt! skin and requires some configuration via the skin editor to enable the chosen web content to be displayed.

In addition to the events, call-referred variables can also be used in order to display specific Web applications which can be accessed via URL. It is possible, for example, to display a telephone listing for the calling number of a specific call. This information is shown directly in the SwyxIt! skin.

Please note that a suitable Web server is needed for the implementation of SwyxIt! Web Extensions.

There are various SwyxIt! Web Extensions available on the independent Swyx User Forum.

2. SwyxMobile Option now included in SwyxWare Compact

Until now, it has not been possible to use the SwyxMobile option with SwyxWare Compact. However, due to market demand, the decision has been made to offer SwyxMobile as a standard feature of SwyxWare Compact with the release of SwyxWare V6.12. Therefore up to 10 employees may take advantage of SwyxMobile with SwyxWare Compact.

3. SwyxIt! Mobile improvement: Support of BlackBerry (RIM) Platform (V4.2)

SwyxIt! Mobile Version V2.00, released with SwyxWare V6.12, includes many improvements, new features and changes.

Note: SwyxIt! Mobile for BlackBerry (RIM) under SwyxIt! Mobile V2.00 offers a comparable level of functionality as was provided through SwyxIt! Mobile V1.00 for phones running Symbian or Windows Mobile operating systems. For further details, see section 3c below ‘Differences between SwyxIt! Mobile (RIM) compared with basic functionality of the other SwyxIt! Mobile versions’.

  • Transfer an active call to office phone

  • Configurable right selection key

Note: This feature is available with SwyxIt! Mobile (Symbian) only.

  • Settings secured by password
  • Access to the native calendar

Note: This new function is only for Symbian and Windows Mobile variants of SwyxIt! Mobile, not for the SwyxIt! Mobile RIM variant.

  • Loudspeaker / activate microphone

Switching the loudspeaker/microphone on and off is now possible within the SwyxIt! Mobile menus.

SwyxIt! Mobile improvement: Differences between SwyxIt! Mobile (RIM) compared with basic functionality of the other versions

SwyxIt! Mobile RIM functions are compared with the basic functions (v1.00) of the Symbian and Windows Mobile variants. These differences result both from technical restrictions and a different design philosophy implemented by the RIM platform.

Differences in idle mode

Option ‘New call’ This option is obsolete. An appropriate input field is already present in the user interface of SwyxIt! Mobile (RIM)
Option ‘Speed Dials’ This option is planned for implementation in a later version
Option/settings ‘Auto start’ This option is planned for implementation in a later version

Differences during an active call

Option ‘New call’ This option is obsolete. An appropriate input field is already present in the user interface of SwyxIt! Mobile (RIM)
Option ‘DTMF send’ This option is not shown in the menu during an active call. Instead, this possibility becomes available if a number is entered during a conversation and the input key is pressed. Then a new menu is presented showing; ‘Dial’, ‘Send DTMF’ and ‘Blind call transfer’. This difference is due to the difference in usage of the BlackBerry.
Activate loudspeaker This option is planned for implementation in a later version. In the current version, the activation of the loudspeaker during an active call requires the native application to be changed.

4. SwyxIt! Dialler for SwyxPhone S315

The new SwyxIt! Dialler mode enables the control of a SwyxPhone S315 via SwyxIt! In this mode nearly all SwyxIt! functions are available. A special skin is available for this mode showing only the functions that can be used with this mode. Available functions in this mode are detailed below:

5. Voicemail and Fax Improvements

  • Voicemail subject shows the duration of the voicemail

Example: Voicemail from 0070519352744 Smith, John, Dur. 00:28).

This makes it easier to see the length of a received voicemail in Microsoft Outlook, when the preview function is switched off and only the subject of the mails are shown.

  • Direct access to specific voicemails

A link will be added in the voicemail: ‘To retrieve this voicemail on the phone, please click <callto:##102xxxx>’. This link allows direct access to the selected voicemail.

  • Name of Wav attachment

The file name of the Wav attachment contains the date/time and caller ID.

  • Name of FaxMail attachment

The file name of Faxmail TIF and PDF attachments now contains the date/time, StationID, name and CallerID/telephone number.

  • Script-Template improvements
  • Remote inquiry with post dialling digits

The user should be able to directly access the submenu items of the Remote Inquiry directly by using post dialling digits (e.g. ##101 to listen to recorded voicemails).

  • Calls to a user’s own phone regardless of configured call forwardings

Using the code ‘##70*’ a user is able to call his own phone(s) regardless if he has activated a call forwarding or not.

  • Calls to a user’s voicemail regardless of configured call forwardings

Using the code ‘##71*’ a user is able to connect to his own voicemail regardless if he has activated a call forwarding or not.

  • Initiate a direct call from any device

Devices, which do not natively support direct calls can initiate direct calls using the Feature Code “nnn*72*”.

Note: This feature can only be used via block dialling.

  • Call delivery without Mobile Extension Manager

When a  user is logged on with a device like SwyxIt!, the call first gets signalled to all devices except the mobile phone. After some seconds the caller get an announcement “I am not at my desk, please be patient, my mobile phone is now being called”. Then the call is delivered to all of the user’s devices.
