Convergence of fixed network and mobile radio
In most companies, the fixed network and mobile radio are still largely separate. Employees have several telephone numbers and use various voicemail systems. Moreover, important company communication functions cannot be used with the mobile phone. All this costs time, restricts availability and prevents efficient control of communication costs. Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) is technology that eliminates these disadvantages, enabling a convergent linking of mobile radio and fixed network.
The mobile phone becomes an effective extension
SwyxMobile is an option with SwyxWare Essential, to enable simple integration of mobile phones into company communication. We distinguish here between the SwyxIt! Mobile Client and the Swyx Contact Center Mobile.
Main advantages of SwyxMobile:
SwyxIt! Mobile Client
The SwyxIt! Mobile Client is software developed specifically for mobile phones with Symbian, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry operating systems. Through the user interface of your mobile phone, the client provides convenient access to the familiar SwyxWare functions such as call transfer, call swap, conference, conversation recording or call forwarding settings.
In principle you can benefit from the SwyxMobile advantages with virtually any mobile phone, even if no SwyxIt! Mobile Client is installed. In this case, you simply dial the relevant key sequences (function codes) on your mobile phone.
For selected Nokia mobile phones with Symbian operating system, SwyxMobile offers Dual Mode support (e.g. E65, E61i, E71 or E90). Owners of these phones can also telephone via SIP/WLAN with the SwyxIt! Mobile Client. And all the usual features (e.g. hold, call swap, recording etc.) can likewise be used in SIP mode. Calls can thus be made without charge using the company's own WLAN network. Dual Mode support presents a real alternative to DECT Multicell systems here.
Swyx Contact Center Mobile – iPhone Integration
The Swyx Contact Center Mobile is a Web application optimized for the Apple iPhone – a complicated installation is thus unnecessary. It uses GPRS, UMTS or WLAN for the connection to the SwyxServer. After logging on to the server, you have access to the global phonebook and your personal phonebook, and to your caller and redial lists. For each entry in these lists, you get detailed contact information such as numbers, e-mail address, or an image for the contact. From these details, you can execute further actions directly, e.g. call the contact or write an e-mail.
Within the global contacts in the Swyx Contact Center Mobile, the status ("logged on", "logged off" or "speaking") of any SwyxWare user in your organization is shown. With the possibility of representing the global phonebooks of multiple SwyxServers as one, status signaling across servers is realized. The intervals at which the SwyxServer synchronizes the subscribers' status can be selected individually on the iPhone.
